I have been designing websites since I was in eighth grade and learned what HTML was.
Now, I'm proficient in HTML, CSS, and PHP, and I'm fairly good with Javascript. Not only do I code sites, I design their layouts and produce the images and components necessary.
I have maintained my own website for five years, and I have designed websites for my various projects as well.
I am currently designing a new website for New York Times bestselling author Ellen Hopkins.
My current website (www.benkling.com) has been reverted to a simpler, blog-like interface (as you can see) but here's what the previous layout looked like:
In accordance with current design standards, I wanted to keep the new design simple and organized. I included the link to the older design to illustrate some of my more detailed work. It included a seamlessly integrated blog, a javascript comments and rating system, a php contact form, an RSS preview box, and lots of other goodies that were fun to make, but ultimately clogged the site, crowded its design, and overcomplicated its functionality.
